Clothing

Nigeria's location in the tropics endows it with a rather hot tropical climate. Temperatures in Abuja do not vary much throughout the year, with slight changes between the two “seasons” experienced here. Its seasons are determined by rainfall, with the rainy season which runs from April to October being somewhat cooler than the dry season covering the rest of the year. While temperatures average in the mid-twenties during the day time almost throughout the year, highs can be in the high thirties and lows in the high teens Celsius. Dress code around the campus can be formal or informal depending on one's choice.

University Gym and Swimming Pool

AUST's residential, and non-residential, community can gain access to all the fitness equipment available at the University Gym and Swimming Pool on campus. Workshop participants are not required to pay a membership fee.

The University Gym and Swimming Pool provides a friendly, enjoyable, and relaxed atmosphere for you to exercise and offers a wide range of exercise equipment including treadmills, steppers, exercise bikes, resistance equipment and free weights. The Swimming Pool provides a spot where you can both exercise in a treated pool as well as cool off after a hot day. Please note that there are no life guards stationed at the poolside and only experienced swimmers are advised to make use of it.

Connectivity and computer facilities

The AUST campus is a “wired campus”. So WiFi is available in the Halls and everywhere else on campus. If you do not have a laptop, there are a number of areas on campus where you can make use of free computers.
